Back through the Baltics

After some of the best times travelling with people it was back to solo travel as I made my way back from Budapest to Helsinki. I decided to make this trip only by land, using buses through the Baltics and a Ferry to cross the sea. I had a little more than a week to get back in time for friends who were coming to Finland, which meant only a couple of days to explore each of the cities I passed on the way. The way back was:

• Budapest -> Warsaw
• Warsaw -> Vilnius
• Vilnius -> Riga
• Riga -> Tallinn
• Tallinn -> Helsinki

Despite some rough bus rides (one overnight 12 hr + delay rip) it was really great to travel through Europe this way. At each new city I would sign up for the free walking tour to see the old town and learn a bit about the history of the country. Then on the second day I would wander around aimlessly and enjoy all of the delicious food these places had to offer. So far one of my favourite parts of Europe to eat. Will spend longer at each place next time I come here.
